On Sunday we were back in line with the universe. We got up and dressed (Reese dressed herself while I was in the shower!) then headed to Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall to see Santa Claus. Little did I know that the stores in the mall opened at 11am. I only saw that Santa was there starting at 10am so that is when we went. I think we were the first ones to see him! There was no line and Santa was waving at Reese for about a city block as we walked to him.
She was a little hesitant at first but then he talked to her and she became comfortable. He checked his Naughty or Nice watch to see where she fell - 7, so she was on the nice list. (C average, which is about right for probably most three year olds.) She told him she wanted a Barbie computer and a Doc McStuffins doctor kit (she knows that she got two doctor kits for Christmas last year but she needs three).
Next we window shopped which Reese did not really enjoy because there was no playing with things just smearing your nose on the glass. We found a little play area that was free and had little houses that the kids could play on.
This woman at the Disney store told us to come back a couple minutes before the store opens so we did. Little did we know that Reese was going to stand in for Mickey Mouse and turn on the magic at the Disney Store. (I do love Disney!) They tried to shake some bells at the store but nothing happened.
Then Reese dressed up as the Sorcerer's Apprentice...
...and said the magic words "Let the Magic Begin" and all the lights and music and everything came on in the store. Reese was so excited she was able to do it. They let her keep the bells and gave her a Mickey Medal on a lanyard that she could wear. It was SO adorable and she was SO proud. Then we went to shopping in there and Reese picked out a little Rapunzel doll to give to Sophia for Christmas because her long blonde hair looks like Reese's and would remind Sophia of her big sister.
We headed home after this to each a quick lunch and then head to the Library. Reese was very excited to pick up a couple movies from the holds shelf because they had her name on them (I put them on hold using her library card). We needed a day of just the two of us and this one was pretty perfect!
