Musical Instrument Museum

The Musical Instrument Museum opened this summer in Scottsdale.  Lani and I spent a Saturday there traveling around the world through music.

Jem's guitar - not really but that would have been awesome!

LP - ha!

It was fun to explore a new museum!  It is bright and shiny and clean but I think I can wait to go back.  Though, Lani did get a mini harmonica necklace... I'm super jealous!

Birthday Trip to Prescott

The Saturday after my birthday, Lani and I headed up to Prescott for the day.  I have always wanted to go and I loved it as much as I thought I would.  First we hit the farmer's market where I bought a wallet from the same booth that had the awesome fox mask seen above. We also got some rockin' jam and honey lemonade.
Next, we went to the Sharlot Hall Museum which was amazing!  It is has a campus of historical buildings on it, including a log cabin which was the governor's mansion, a small one room school house and a turn of the century home with an amazing wreath made out of hair (Amy would have loved it)!
Then after purchasing some period cookbooks from the gift shop, we had lunch on Whiskey Row at The Palace with my new Prescott boyfriend, Peter, as our waiter.
After doing a little shopping, Lani and I grabbed a blanket and our newly purchased books and soaked up the great outdoors.  Then, we had some homemade ice cream and headed home.
Only to have to drive through a storm but thankfully, we were able to only hit the edge of it and saw the clearest rainbow.

To my surprise, Lani made me a birthday banner, perfect for the Aveo and some road trip snacks.  It really was a perfect day!  I am so glad I was finally able to visit Prescott and I think I loved it more than I thought I would.
