Walking on Sunshine

"You printed how many pictures of me?!!"

I love this face. This pictures was taken when my dad was visiting last weekend and Reese started walking!  It is very drunkin sailor stumbling but I am just so excited to see her walk! (even if it is a video on youtube)

Visit with Reese - part three

The day we hand to take Reese back to Fort Wayne was even harder than the day I left for Arizona.  I don't know when I will see her again and she has already changed so much.  I don't know what I will do when I don't know her routine any more.  I just hope that she doesn't forget me.

I cried almost the entire drive back then I flew back to AZ that night.  I miss her in my bones.

And I can't wait for the next time I see her and the many adventures we will have together!

Visit with Reese - part two

I love Reese first thing in the morning.  The smile she gives you when she first sees you then I would sing a song from story time at the library.

Good morning, how are you?
Good morning, how do you do?
I'm fine, hope you are to.
Good morning, how are you!

She loved her valentines day present.  I was super excited when the first thing that came out of the bag was a book!  She loved her finger puppets and she put them in the little snack container that I also got her.  Organizing already!  She carried around the bag like a purse which was super cute!
And then she decided that she liked my purse!

then she had her first taste of starbacks :)

When she got dressed (after a super cute bath), it was in a dress I had bought her and looked super cute!!
I love spending time with her.  She is my sunshine!

Visit with Reese - part one

I flew in Thursday night, my flight was only delayed 2 hours which I guess I should be greatful about because there were crazy snow storms all over.  Friday morning my mom and I drove to Fort Wayne to pick up little Reese.  She didn't recognize me at first but once we went upstairs and I held her, she put her head on my shoulder and gave me a big hug.  It was one of my favorite moments with her ever.

Reese ate and then slept most of the way home.  She had the craziest curliest hair.  It has really grown a lot in the 6 weeks since I left.
We played at my mom's house for a couple hours.  She was a little out of sorts at first because she really hasn't been away from Transitions but she quickly remembered where my mom keeps her toys and made herself quite at home.
She just adored being the center of attention at my dad's house that evening. She was just goofy when we were getting her ready for bed. She sat in her rocker in just a diaper singing Rock a-by Baby and rocking. Who needs a tv when you have Reese around?
She had a hard time going to sleep so, aw shucks, I had to rock her.  I really enjoyed that time with her while I was there.  It was our own time just like before.  I didn't mind getting up in the night either - I did leap out of bed when she would make a noise.

She is almost walking.  Mostly she just needs to hold one of your hands to keep her balance.  She did take a couple steps on her own while she was visiting and she does stand up on her own and not holding on to anything, especially when she is distracted by something.  She is still our tiny dancer and she has come up with a couple new moves like kicking her leg behind her or popping her knee.  It is also pretty great when she sings.

The opening ceremonies of the winter olymipcs were on Friday night and it was fun watching them with my cousins and family... who knew Hong Kong was a country?  I do now!

Weekend Fun

I had a busy last weekend with Lani!  We took a trip to Ikea on Friday (man, i love not working Fridays!) to return some things and then buy all kinds of other things.  I found a couch cover in the "as is" section but it is going to require some sewing and finessing.  We will see what happens.

Then Saturday we went to see Walt and El Grupo, a film about a trip Walk Disney took in 1941 to South America.  It was a beautifully done film with wonderful pictures and footage from the actual trip.  If you have a chance you should definitely see it!

Then on Sunday we went to the Chocolate Affair in downtown Glendale.  Parking was a disaster and there were tons of people, even on Super Bowl Sunday!  We ate chocolate covered chips which were tasty but not as good as I wanted them to be.  Then we went over and browsed at an antique store.  Oh, how I love antique stores.  There are so many treasures to be found!  I didn't come home with anything but my head if full of inspiration!

I am flying to Indiana tomorrow to see Reese and I can't wait!!!  I am having a hard time concentrating on much else...

Fishy, Fishy, Fishy

To pay off some lunch debts to Lani, I crocheted a car seat/stroller toy for a baby shower she had this weekend.  Three little fish with bells in their tails.
Kid tested and approved!

Layla's Birds

For Christmas Lani gave me a Layla Luna original!  It is a sketching of a little ceramic bird and I could not love it more.  It makes me happy to look at so I thought I would share that happiness with you!

Check out Layla's other artwork at her etsy store:

I love everything she creates!
