A very dear patron of my library draws and loves to share his drawings with anyone who may be interested. He stopped by yesterday to tell me some good news and to drop off some black and white copies of his drawings for my little one to color. She was so excited when we got home last night! She picked the lion above to color then decided he needed some makeup. "He needed eyelashes." she explained as she showed me. To me his eyes look a little sad to have all that makeup on, poor lion! I may have a makeup artist on my hands.

Throwback Thursday
These are some of my favorite pictures of my stinky-pot girl. I love looking at them and seeing how much she has grown. Then I cry because she isn't this little girl anymore.
She still wears this size 12-18 month skirt to dance class. Skinny girl.
This horse my mother received as a child, then Adrienne and I played on it and now Reese and Sophia. Three generations of girls playing cowgirl on this guy and still going strong.

From the mouths of babes...
I love the way Reese says things in her little three year old way. Here are some of my faves:
Juince for Juice
Nail Polich for Nail Polish
Sead for Sea
Breaktest for Breakfast
I love her little voice I just don't want it to go away as she grows up so quickly.

Shower time
Bath time for Reese had gotten very routine. She started to dread it about a month ago when she had always looked forward to it and she always has fun playing in the tub once I can get her in. She had talked about a time when she took a shower with Mommy Adrienne and she didn't like it. But last night she asked if she could take a shower instead of a bath. I moved the shower-head so she could have a safe space without with water towards the back then stood there outside the tub so that I could help to wash her hair. She had a blast. A lot of water came out of the tub and onto me but she listened really well while I washed her hair and then she told me to go away so she could play. I told her okay but just for three minutes, to which she replied "no four, no five, no eight minutes. That's a long time." She even asked if she could take a shower tomorrow. I'm so happy that this was able to add some excitement to something that had become routine and that she had fun!

New Baby!
On Friday, the Wazny family welcomed Victoria Elise Wazny to the world. I was able to sneak out to meet her before picking up Reese, Katherine and Charlotte for their first sleep over.
We have been calling her Cupcake which is proving a hard habit to break!
I took the girls to dance class on Saturday morning then we picked up McDonalds and headed to the hospital so the girls could meet their new sister.
I am so happy that Cupcake and Amy are healthy and doing well. Amy was able to come home today instead of tomorrow. After the week I have had, it it perfect to be able to hold a new born and know that somehow everything is going to be okay. New babies have a power of bringing everything back to reality. They are so vulnerable and dependant, which it is okay to be. I am already planning on spending my lunch break at Amy's tomorrow so that I can get some more time with her. I am so happy for my AZ family and glad I was able to be here to help as much as I could.

Reese Quotes
Reese was full of it last night. She just kept making me laugh.
I was washing her hair in the bathtub and we were talking about castles. She said we didn't get to go in Sleeping Beauty's castle when we were in Disneyland so I said "don't worry, we will next time we go." To which she replied "you betcha!"
She then commented on the fact that the rug by the tub was missing so I had to ask her why that was. She replied "I filled up the cup, then you got nervous, then I spilled the cup." Which was a true statement.
Amy stopped by last night to see if Katherine's booster seat would fit in my car with the three year old's car seats. Reese came out to see what was happening then decided to run circles in the driveway. She stopped at my legs and said "Mom, I have energy in my bones." then took off again.

the light went out
I received some news from my adoption lawyer on Wednesday that I had not expected. It has some serious consequences for my financial situation so I am not going to go into all of it here but I will say that I have spent most of the past couple of days either crying or on the verge of tears. The light went out at the end of the tunnel and I know that it will come back on sometime but right now it looks scary down there. Financially something is going to have to change in the next couple of months. Yesterday I was able to put some band-aides on to get us through the end of the year but they can't last for the long term.
Thankfully, Reese hasn't noticed at all. When I picked her up from preschool on Wednesday after just hearing the news, I was able to keep it together but I could tell some of the students noticed that I had been crying. Reese on the other hand, did not notice at all. She wanted to keep coloring on the dry-erase board and that was that.
No need to worry, the adoption is still set for November which I think is the best for both of us. I cannot risk losing her back into the system nor do I want to miss other opportunities because we cannot leave Arizona until the adoption is finalized. It is hard being a single mother in many ways but Reese is worth all of this. I love her more than words will ever be able to express...

...especially when she has to dance and sing with Anastasia!
