I flew in Thursday night, my flight was only delayed 2 hours which I guess I should be greatful about because there were crazy snow storms all over. Friday morning my mom and I drove to Fort Wayne to pick up little Reese. She didn't recognize me at first but once we went upstairs and I held her, she put her head on my shoulder and gave me a big hug. It was one of my favorite moments with her ever.
Reese ate and then slept most of the way home. She had the craziest curliest hair. It has really grown a lot in the 6 weeks since I left.
We played at my mom's house for a couple hours. She was a little out of sorts at first because she really hasn't been away from Transitions but she quickly remembered where my mom keeps her toys and made herself quite at home.
She just adored being the center of attention at my dad's house that evening. She was just goofy when we were getting her ready for bed. She sat in her rocker in just a diaper singing Rock a-by Baby and rocking. Who needs a tv when you have Reese around?
She had a hard time going to sleep so, aw shucks, I had to rock her. I really enjoyed that time with her while I was there. It was our own time just like before. I didn't mind getting up in the night either - I did leap out of bed when she would make a noise.
She is almost walking. Mostly she just needs to hold one of your hands to keep her balance. She did take a couple steps on her own while she was visiting and she does stand up on her own and not holding on to anything, especially when she is distracted by something. She is still our tiny dancer and she has come up with a couple new moves like kicking her leg behind her or popping her knee. It is also pretty great when she sings.
The opening ceremonies of the winter olymipcs were on Friday night and it was fun watching them with my cousins and family... who knew Hong Kong was a country? I do now!
Sweet baby girl!
