Misc. October

Reese's class took a field trip to the Tipton Hospital.
She LOVED it and proceeded to wear her mask and hairnet for days.

We may have another hairdresser on our hands.

Getting ready for Reese's favorite holiday.

Showing off my crochet skills.

First Mini 4-H meeting

She's pretty great.

Conner Prairie, again

We just cannot get enough of Conner Prairie.
It is great to get outside on a beautiful day.

This day, we played checkers at the Golden Eagle Inn.

Skipped through the woods.

Participated in the civil war reenactments in Dupont.

Ate ice cream with lots of sprinkles.

And went up in the hot air balloon!
For as many times as we have been to Conner Prairie, we had never been up in the balloon.
This was our day!

Kindergarten Field Trip: Guffey Acres

I took some time off of work to be a chaperone on Reese's field trip to Guffey Acres, a farm in Kokomo.
We sat with Jenny on the bus.

We saw goats and chickens, learned about bees and corn.

Played in the corn box, a giant box filled with tons of corn that the kids played in.

It was super messy but looked like a lot of fun!

They loved jumping on the pillow.

Here is Miss Reecer and her kindergarten class!

Apple Picking

Our yearly tradition took us apple picking with my mom, Marc and Josh at Garwood Orchards.

We also picked green beans.

And raspberries.

We were able to stop at Chesterton's European Market and the used bookstore by the market then head to the orchard before the weather turned and it rained.  I love this tradition that gets us outside, eating fresh and supporting local commerce.  I look forward to it every fall.

Pedal to the Pines

Annie and Dan organized a bike ride every year to raise money for cancer research: Pedal to the Pines.  Reese, Lew and I were happy to attend this year.  We spent time with family and friends in pure Michigan beauty for a good cause.

We camped out using my dad's tent.  Unfortunately, the low was in the 30s so we were all pretty cold after the sun set.  Reese ended up being the only kid who came but everyone was so great about playing with her.  I learned some things if we go again next year.

When we arrived home, Reese decided she needed to pedal to Subway for dinner.  She said, "Take my picture.  I'm hurt just like Chewy."
